He started farming at the age of 15. Mohammed has been farming his 2 farms for
over than 60 years. He shares his 60 libna farms with a partner. Coffee farming is his
only source of income, which he uses to support his 7 family dependants.
Mohammed Al herwi is dedicated to producing high quality coffee, sources his
organic fertiliser from 189km away in the region of Tihama.

Mohammed Ahmed Al Herwi and his family rely heavily on the income from their
coffee crop, increasing both the quantity and yield of produce greatly benefits Al
Herwi’s family, making the distance travelled for the fertiliser’s high levels of nutrients
well worth the trip. Although coffee is the focal point of Al Herwi’s farm, the family
also produce a modest crop of fruits and vegetables, including tomatoes, cucumbers,
and potatoes.
