Alba Lucy Narváez grew up in a coffee-producing family in
Pitalito, Huila, where coffee farming was the foundation of her
family’s livelihood. While she spent her childhood
surrounded by coffee, it was after becoming a mother at 18
that she decided to pursue a career in the industry.

She completed a Coffee Production Technician program at
SENA, where she gained knowledge in coffee cultivation, quality
control, cupping, and farm management. This education
helped shape her approach to specialty coffee production.

Over time, Alba and her family transitioned from producing
coffee for volume to focusing on quality. Today, they dedicate
their efforts to El Mirador, a two-hectare, shade-grown
specialty coffee farm, where they work to produce
exceptional coffees while caring for the land and its
long-term sustainability.
