About SCA Coffee Skills Program
Welcome to the SCA Coffee Class
Coffee is more than just a drink it is a story, a culture, and a journey that connects people around the world. Many of us first experienced coffee through our families, traditions, and memories. For some, it started with watching a “Grandmother” carefully prepare coffee at home, filling the room with aroma and warmth. Those simple moments created a connection that turned coffee into something meaningful beyond just caffeine.
Today, coffee has evolved into a global industry built on knowledge, craftsmanship, and passion. This is where the SCA Coffee Class begins.
The Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) was created to help coffee professionals and enthusiasts understand coffee at a deeper level from seed to cup. The purpose of the SCA Coffee Class is to provide structured education about coffee quality, brewing, sensory skills, roasting, green coffee, and professional barista techniques.

A comprehensive introduction to specialty coffee designed for beginners to understand coffee’s journey from seed to cup. Students will learn about coffee origins, different coffee species and varieties, basic sensory skills, brewing methods, and the fundamentals of specialty coffee culture.

Focused on developing practical skills behind the espresso bar, from foundational techniques to advanced management of coffee service operations.

The SCA Sensory Skills course is designed to develop a deeper understanding of how we perceive and evaluate coffee through taste, aroma, and mouthfeel. This course introduces students to the fundamentals of sensory analysis and helps build the ability to identify flavors, assess coffee quality, and communicate tasting experiences professionally.
