The Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) Coffee Skills Program is a globally recognized education system designed to develop knowledge, practical skills, and professional competence throughout the coffee value chain. A comprehensive introduction to specialty coffee designed for beginners to understand coffee’s journey from seed to cup. Students will learn about coffee origins, different coffee species and varieties, basic sensory skills, brewing methods, and the fundamentals of specialty coffee culture.

Focused on developing practical skills behind the espresso bar, from foundational techniques to advanced management of coffee service operations.

The SCA Sensory Skills course is designed to develop a deeper understanding of how we perceive and evaluate coffee through taste, aroma, and mouthfeel. This course introduces students to the fundamentals of sensory analysis and helps build the ability to identify flavors, assess coffee quality, and communicate tasting experiences professionally.
